Michael Foot was born on July 23rd 1913, in Plymouth, Devon, UK. He was a British Labour Party Politician who served as Labour Leader from 1980 to 1983 and an author. Michael Foot began his career as a newspaper editor and columnist. By 1974, he became secretary of state for employment in charge of complex and controversial trade-union legislation.

He later became the leader of the House of Commons. Between 1976 and 1980, he went from being the Labour Party’s deputy leader to the Party’s Chief. As a political writer, Michael Foot had a reputation for being a rebel of the left and advocated for state ownership of industries.
